Air China
Air China, a Star Alliance member located in China, primarily offers regional flights within Asia. It also has routes to numerous cities in Europe and a few select cities in North America & Australia.
Air China features an open suite that has a fully lie flat seat. Turn down service is offered, allowing you to convert your seat into a bed. On-demand dining is available, although the food is not highly rated. Alcohol selection is mediocre, with lower-tiered champagne being served. Service varies across flights. Overall, it is still slightly better than US based airlines.
How to search for X award space:
To search for award space on X, you will need to use the Air Canada website, which is a partner of X.
Step 2
Hover over Use Your Miles, and then click Travel.
Step 3
Now that you are on the Travel Reward Search page, do the following:
- Click Round-Trip
- Enter departure city and arrival city
- Enter desired departure date
- Input the number of adults flying
- Select desired cabin class
After filling out all the necessary information, click Search.
Step 4
Make sure you are under the Fixed Mileage tab. Choose your preferred flight.
Step 5
Choose your preferred flight. Select the flight to see the details of the flight you desire. Write down the following information: flight number, dates, and cabin class.
Step 6
Call the frequent flier program you are trying to redeem your miles on and ask to speak to an agent. Once he or she is on the line, state the flights you’ve found available award space on and they should be able to book the award for you.
