Emirates Airlines is a non-affiliated independent airline located in Dubai that flies primarily within the Middle East. Emirates has an extensive international network that covers all regions of the world, with numerous flights to North America, Europe,  Australia, Africa & Asia, and a few select cities in South America.

Emirates is not in any formal alliance, but it partners with multiple airlines including Alaska Airlines.

Emirates offers the world’s first fully enclosed suites with automatic doors, blinds, and a minibar. There is a vast selection of meals, with top notch appetizers, notably the Arabic mezze. They have the most extensive and expensive alcohol selection in any airline, including Dom Perrignon. On board shower spa & bar are available on select flights. Service is highly regarded by patrons.

How to search for X award space:

To search for award space on X, you will need to use the Alaska Airlines website, which is a partner of X.

Step 1

Log into your Mileage Plan account on Alaska Airlines. If you don’t have an account yet, click this link to sign up.

Step 2

Click Book on the navigation bar, then under it click Flights.

  • Select Round Trip or One-Way, then below it check Use Miles.
  • Input the number of adults flying
  • Input the departure and arrival airports.
  • Input the desired departure and arrival dates.
  • On the Award Type, select Miles Only
  • Click Find Flights

All the available award flights should show up.
On the left hand side, under Filter Results, choose how many stops you prefer. Then, uncheck all airlines except Emirates. If you can’t check Emirates it means there are no available flights.
You can move left or right for other dates and check for availability. You can also check the awards calendar by clicking View on the left navigation and select Calendar. It will show you which days of each month have award space.

In some cases, the results may show you tickets that say, “mixed-class”. This means one of your flights does not have award space in your desired seat type (economy, business or first).

Once you find the flight and verify that it’s available, then congratulations! You can proceed to booking it online.
